Borkimus - are you checking out the mission intel first to see what kind of damage and resists you should be concentrating on? The missions are listed at eveinfo.com, there is also a site for the in game browser, but I can't get the link right now...

If you have a specific enemy in mind, like Guristas, you can buy an ECM tailored to their sensor type, like gravimetric. Which would be much more effective against them, but not so effective against others.

Plus, sometimes the windows get combined, and your world map control panel may be under a tab at the top of, say, your market or cargohold window. You can combine the windows like that manually, which is quite helpful in reducing screen clutter.

Isn't there also a courier type scam where the package is undeliverable? Not just because the cargo size is outrageously large, but they game it some other way?

mush - I got a Condor my 2nd day (Friday). Fit it with a missile launcher and an afterburner, and you can easily outrun the pirates while pasting them with missiles from a safe orbiting distance.

Alan, you're talking about the Overview, which I understand how to use. And I think it's range is limited (?) compared to local chat, which shows the entire system. Or does chat show the same settings as the overview?

Hi all. I keep seeing this phrase - check local - on tips for guaging the danger of a system, I don't really understand it. Do they mean in the chat window? It doesn't show any information that would help determine threat level from what I can see.
